
Root is a vibrant and deeply strategic game of woodland warfare where each player controls a completely unique faction with its own rules, abilities, and path to victory. The Marquise de Cat focuses on industry and military control, building sawmills and recruiting troops. The Eyrie Dynasties follow a strict decree of actions each round, gaining power as long as they can maintain their momentum. The Woodland Alliance spreads sympathy among the oppressed critters and sparks revolts to seize control. The Vagabond plays solo, forming alliances, completing quests, and navigating between factions with cunning diplomacy. Each game is highly asymmetrical and interactive, with shifting power dynamics and constant tension. Players compete to earn 30 victory points or win by playing a special dominance card.
